Featured Artist(s): U. Shrinivas -mandolin

Style: Instrumental

U Shrinivas is synonymous with the western stringed instrument Mandolin, on which he plays Carnatic music with ease and perfection. The album begins with an elaborate alap of the raga Mayamalavagoulai, followed by the kriti Merusamana, a composition of Thyagaraja. This kriti is in praise of lord Rama, who is firm and inviolable like Mount Meru and a bestower of boons. Koteeswara Iyers, Yedaiya Gathi in raga Chalanatai, is a beautiful composition where the composer looks upon the Lord as his only refuge and means of salvation. The album ends with a traditional Sai bhajan in raga Maand.
