The album features rarely heard or achop ragas by Classical music maestro Pandit Jasraj. These ragas are lesser heard as they were not a part of the major repertoire of a gharana. But they are as wealthy in terms of richness of form or ethos. The doyen begins his recital with raga Purba. The raga shows structural similarities with ragas Purvi and Basant. It is followed by raga Patdipaki. This raga has carved a space for itself out of different ragas like the Purba. However, the structure of this raga is more complex as it is a weave between two thaats. |
