SHRI SATYANARAYAN VRAT KATHA
India is a land of great religious beliefs and customs. Among the various religious communities, the Hindus celebrate numerous religious festivals to invoke their Gods and Godesses. A popular way of worshipping a deity is observing a 'vrat' or a fast. People keep fasts during many festivals to worship, appease or receive the blessings of their deity. The vrat is accompanied by a katha which is read out during the fast. It is interspersed with mythological incidents which are attached to the deity. This katha also includes prayers and offerings to the God being worshipped.
