CELTIC RAGAS
Celtic music is synonymous with using drone and pentatonic scales, elaborating melody rather than harmony and having the art of improvisation and live performance. Celtic Ragas was conceived at a concert in Delhi back in 1979 where Chinmaya Dunster, being smitten by the sound of sarod for the first time, instantly drew a connection between Celtic folk music of Europe and classical music of India. It is a musical affair for the two artistes, an intimate connection between two old friends. The music you hear on this CD is a result of blending chords on the guitar with melodies on sarod.
